About Me
I was born at Children's hospital in Oklahoma City and was raised in Norman OK until the age of 9 when we moved to New Jersey and Florida for my parents' job. I graduated high school at Gaither High School in Tampa, Florida, right down the street from the Buccaneer stadium. I moved back to Oklahoma after high school and attended college at Oklahoma City Community College and then Eastern and Southeastern University. I graduated from college in 2011 with a major in Broadcasting Journalism and a minor in photography. As my professors would say, I had a nose for news" and could often be found on campus finding the latest breaking stories to report on. I was the lead photographer and feature writer for the OCCC newspaper for over two years and had my stories and photos published in their paper weekly. After graduation, I began working as an On-Air DJ for Rock 105 KTMC FM in McAlester while continuing photography part time as a hobby. I have always had a passion for photography and enjoyed lots of college classes pertaining to the field from Lightroom editing, Black and White Photography class, developing film in the college darkroom and much more.
IN 2011, 2015 and 2017 I gave birth to my amazing boys and began working from home to raise my children. As they became sports age and started playing in school sports, I quickly gained a passion for sports photography and started taking action shots at all their sporting events from little league and now both little league and high school. I absolutely love action shots and capturing high stakes moments in a still frame for the families to cherish forever! Sports photography is definitely my favorite. As a mom, I find a way to balance my love and passion for photography part time while being a full-time mom, running an essential oils / wellness business, being a licensed life insurance agent and running a parking lot striping company for the last 19 years. This season of life is very busy with three boys age 14, 10, and 8 on top of hosting children in our home as foster parents and substitute teaching for our local school when they are shorthanded. Shhheewwww that's a lot! BUT with the help of my husband, a detailed routine and schedule our family working together as a team to make it all work and have lots of fun along the way!
In addition to sports photography, I love doing nature shots, animals, family portraits, special events, corporate events, births, weddings and individual photography. As a child growing up in the 80's there were no cell phones to capture pictures like there are today. Camera film had to be developed at the photo lab and there was no digital editing or proofing first. You got what you got! So, my siblings and I don't have very many pictures from our childhood. I have always wished we had more family pictures and because of that, have probably annoyed my kids sometimes over the years taking so many pictures of them and our family buy they love the finished product. I feel that every child and family should have lots of individual and family portraits throughout the year to cherish special memories and milestones forever.
I am so passionate about family and individual portraits that I offer discounted rates for those on low income and throughout the year offer several "pay what you can afford" sessions where I allow the families to pay whatever they choose to or can afford so that they can have high quality family photos and memories that will fit with their budget.
Today, as C3 Photography continues to evolve, driven by my passion and creativity, I hope you will consider me for your family or event photographer now and for years to come. I am committed to God honoring values and integrity in my life and business and love to serve our community anyway I can. Happy shooting!
